Purslane (scientific name: Portulaca oleracea L.) annual herb, the whole plant is hairless. The stem is lying flat, the ground is scattered, the branches are pale green or dark red. Leaves alternate, leaves flat, hypertrophic, dentate, dark green on top, pale green or dark red below; petiole short. Flowers sessile, in full bloom at midday; bracts leaflike; bracts green, valvate; petals yellow, obovate; stamens anther yellow; ovate glabrous. Capsule ovoid; seeds small, slanted, dark brown, shiny. Flowering period from May to August, fruiting period from June to September.
